"I can do all things through Him who strengthens me", St. Paul (Philippians 4:13). "Chance favours the prepared mind", Louis Pasteur (Lecture, University of Lille, December 1854).

Images and concepts in my works are brought about by the constant process of observing nature (with all its colours), smudging, rough sketching and doodling; connecting them to advice, cultures, dreams, feelings, expressions and events. Acrylic paints on canvas, pencils, ball point pens, soft pastels on paper, these are the primary mediums I use, experimenting with glue, wall filler, sand, sawdust, locally available mediums. All to feed more energy into the works being produced.

Though my preferred tool to apply paint idsthe brush, I also use my fingers, rugs, plates cut from wooden boards, particularly at the start of mixed media work. This helps with the challenges in the formation of backgrounds. There is always a new ground for exploration. Each new work drives and enlightens me: about conservation, about the man-made, the idealistic, about perspective; an approach rooted in the very thought processes of reasoning and innovation.

Asked to explain what really inspires me, I would paint it or to draw a line. For an artist, the only means to talk about inspiration is visual . Every emotion, every beauty, every simplest expression has a shape, a colour or texture, able to communicate in itself. Visual expression is beauty. And everyone loves beauty, expressed or responding in their own way, and in contrast and reaction to the ugliness in life.
