George (Jorge) Edozie was born on the 11th of May 1972 in Enugu State, Nigeria. He studied Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Benin where he majored in Painting. BA 1996, Hons. Fine and Applied Arts. George has had 5 solo Exhibition and over 76 group Exhibitions within and outside Nigeria. His last solo exhibition titled ‘Shifting the Paradigm’ hosted by the Museum Of Contemporary Art North Miami Florida, was listed among the 4 best exhibition at the Art Basel, Miami, 2014.
He is also the co-author of the book "101 Contemporary Artist, A Celebration of Modern Nigerian Art
”, the foremost recent work on Nigerian Contemporary Art, published in 2010. George Edozie’s works are widely collected both within Nigeria and internationally. George was one of the co-founder of the Art group Artzero and also an Art consultant / Curator at the Alexis Gallery in Lagos. He has taken part in Art Workshops worldwide. He was part of the exhibition, Africa Now, organised in 2008 for emerging African artists by the World Bank their main complex in Washington DC. In 2011 he exhibited at the African Way of Art, at La Galerie Vendome in Paris, France. George has successfully curated 21 exhibitions in Ghana, Nigeria, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom,
